Project “Museums connecting cultures connecting people (CONNECT)”

IRID as sub-partners in the project “Museums connecting cultures connecting people (CONNECT)” was actively engaged in the part of Mapping and Evaluation of Museums interconnection in CB Area which included:
1. Mapping
Inventory and location mapping of athletic, folklore, and literature/language museums in the eligible regions of Pelagonia, Vardar, SouthEast, and SouthWest.

2. Analysis of operational characteristics
Recording of operational characteristics per museum such as a number of visitors, opening days and hours, type of facilities, a short description of exhibitions, visitor services, social activities, contact info, etc

3. Identification of links and interconnection
Identification of links between museums within the country and between the 2 countries in the eligible area. The study will explore the level of interconnection between the museums by identifying existing cooperation activities, joint projects, shared exhibitions, knowledge exchange, common activities, etc

4. Results analysis
Analysis of results per type of museum and communication of data and results to PP2.

The project “Museums Connecting Cultures Connecting People”/ Acronym “CONNECT” of the Interreg
IPA II Cross-border Cooperation Programme “Greece- Republic of North Macedonia 2014- 2020” was
implemented under the Partnership Agreement (PA) CN1-SO1.3-SC037 signed by parties:
Municipality of Volvi, Thessaloniki – the Lead Beneficiary (LB), Olympic Museum Thessaloniki –
Project beneficiary no.2 (PB2), National Institution “Museum of the Albanian Alphabet in Bitola”-
Project beneficiary no. 3 (PB3) and Centre for Non-formal Education Triagolnik, Skopje – Project
Beneficiary no4 (PB4). The PA is an integral part of the Subsidy Contract signed and governed by the
Municipality of Volvi (LB).
